The FlashShield jacket is black, semi-conductive, multi-layered and thicker than the yellow, single-layer jacket on traditional Gastite CSST. The FlashShield jacket consists of a base semi-conductive polymer layer, a second conductive metallic shield layer, and a third layer of semi-conductive polymer. Unjacketed, the corrugated stainless steel tubing is the same between FlashShield and yellow Gastite.
