FlashShield Introduction

FlashShield is a corrugated stainless steel gas piping system designed to protect the CSST from the effects of lightning-induced energy. The CSST incorporates a multi-layered shielded jacket that is capable of dissipating lightning energy without harming the CSST underneath. It is important that installers and inspectors understand the differences between FlashShield and traditional Gastite yellow CSST. Anyone installing FlashShield CSST systems must have successfully completed the training requirements of a Gastite training course AND completed the supplemental FlashShield training requirements that follow.
